Spring and autumn is the ideal time to hike and explore the area such as the olive groves, flower fields, citrus groves and along the banks of the Malagiotis River. Visitors enjoy the sweet aroma of the Earth and the warm true colors of the exceptional flora that are native to this part of the island.

In the summer, in the garden of “Zorbas Apartments” with a spectacular view of the blue sea, groups of visitors are learning traditional Greek dances, often with live music and local teachers.

Visitors make Northwest Chios their year round playground. Enjoy activities such as yachting, sailing, boating, fishing, and swimming, hiking, biking or driving to the many enchanting, historic and mysterious parts of area. Hike the third highest mountain on the Greek islands, Pelineon…if you dare… and light a candle in the chapel of Agia Triada located at the highest point of the island. Visit the historic caves at Agio Galas and the warm therapeutic springs at Agiasmata. Join organized guided tours to the areas local winery “Ariousios” just north of Volissos. Here you will taste the famous Ariousios wine produced during antiquity and favored by both ancient Greeks and Romans. According to Homer Arousios wine was the nectar of the Olympian Gods. View the most magnificent and romantic sunset in the Aegean Sea from the medieval castle high over Volissos.
